Opening the Cheat Console
Before you can enter any cheats, you need to open the cheat console. The method depends on your platform:

A text box will appear at the top of the screen. Type your cheat and press Enter.

Enabling testingCheats
Many cheats require you to enable "testing cheats" mode first. This unlocks advanced cheating capabilities.

After entering this, you'll see a message: "Cheats are enabled."
What testingCheats Unlocks
- Shift+Click on Sims: Access hidden options like modifying needs, adding/removing traits, and more
- Shift+Click on Objects: Reset objects, make them dirty or clean
- Shift+Click on Ground: Teleport your Sim anywhere
- Shift+Click on Mailbox: Control other Sims, reset Sims, or make all happy
- Advanced Cheats: Many stat, career, and trait cheats only work with testing enabled

💰 Money Cheats
motherlode
Instantly get §50,000 Simoleons. The classic!
kaching
Get §1,000 Simoleons.
money [amount]
Set your household funds to an exact amount. Example: money 1000000
🏠 Build Mode Cheats
bb.moveobjects on
Place objects anywhere, overlapping allowed. Essential for creative builds!
bb.showhiddenobjects
Unlock hidden objects in the Build/Buy catalog.
bb.showliveeditobjects
Unlock even more hidden objects including plants and world objects.
🎮 Gameplay Cheats
sims.fill_all_commodities
Fills all needs (hunger, fun, hygiene, etc.) for every Sim in your household.
death.toggle false
Disables death. Your Sims become immortal! Use death.toggle true to re-enable.

Step-by-Step: Using a Cheat
Open the Console
Press Ctrl + Shift + C (or the equivalent on your platform)
Enable Testing (if needed)
Type testingcheats true and press Enter. Many advanced cheats require this.
Enter Your Cheat
Type the cheat code exactly as shown (cheats are not case-sensitive) and press Enter.
Close the Console
Press Escape or the same key combo to close the cheat console.
Expansion Pack Cheats
Each expansion pack adds new cheats specific to its content. For example:
- Seasons: Weather control cheats
- Get Famous: Fame and reputation cheats
- Cats & Dogs: Pet trait cheats
- Werewolves: Werewolf ability cheats
- Life & Death: Reaper and ghost cheats

Troubleshooting
Cheat not working?
- Enable testingcheats first: Many cheats require
testingcheats true - Check your spelling: Cheats must be typed exactly
- Check expansion requirements: Some cheats only work with specific packs
- Re-enable after traveling: Testing cheats resets when you travel to a new lot
- Try entering on live mode: Some cheats don't work while paused or in build mode
Console won't open?
- Make sure you're pressing all keys at the same time
- Try clicking on the game window first to make sure it's focused
- Check if any mods or custom content might be interfering
- On console, make sure to hold all shoulder buttons simultaneously
